Hello and welcome to my website. It’s been created to help me showcase my writing and start me on my journey into the diverse world of journalism.
I’ve already dipped my toes into writing through entering numerous competitions and writing some content.
I’m currently ready and waiting to contribute to any publication or any website.
I like crafting stories – fiction or non-fiction. And I love people and discovering more about other worlds that people inhabit. And like many creatives, I wear my heart on my sleeve and I overshare...
The Grand Canyon deserves its status as one of the natural wonders of the world, consistently recognised alongside Mount Everest and the Great Barrier Reef. It had been on my list of places to go since I learned in History that President Roosevelt, in 1908, designated it as a national monument, describing it as ‘beautiful and terrible and unearthly.’
Breaking up with someone who you love is never painless. To be quite honest, it’s one of the most emotionally charged and painful experiences that anyone can endure. But it’s not just the loss of a relationship, it’s the pain derived from losing an individual who held a central place in your heart. It’s about mourning the loss of someone you cared for and shared the most intimate parts of yourself. It’s like finishing a book that you never want to end, or returning home at the end of the best holiday of your entire life.
George Mallory’s famous retort when asked about his reasons for climbing Everest encapsulates the human spirit and symbolises an individual’s desire to conquer the unknown. But people climb for so many more reasons other than this, and his response doesn’t even scratch the surface of why we climb.
In running, whether you’re an amateur or elite, it’s all about those marginal gains. We keep getting told, it’s not about the win or the time, but who are we kidding? Most runners love shaving a few seconds off their PB, it’s what makes you drag yourself out of bed in the morning. We all need a goal.
Some people may accuse me of being anti-social and they’re probably right. I tend to enjoy my own company sometimes…
If my numbers ever came up on the lottery, you’d know because I would have rescued an army of dogs and booked flights on Bark Air. Destination: remote, exotic island.
Why did Charlotte swim across the Camel Estuary? Answer: To get to the other side. 2nd August saw the annual Padstow to Rock Swim and I actually got a place in the ballot.
Climbing, swimming and jumping are all fun activities in their own right. But combine the three and add a picturesque location and you’ve got – COASTEERING!
It’s the pinnacle of the week. The icing on the cake. The cream of the crop. On a long-awaited Friday evening, runners across the nation wolf down their carbs, dust off their trainers and get their barcodes at the ready. What time is it? Parkrun time!
Like people, waves differ massively. Each wave that you try to navigate offers a different set of challenges, which is why it really is the sport of kings.
I’m in love! In the words of Peter Shaffer, ‘if London is a watercolour, New York is an oil painting’. And his analogy holds true.
Science and art rarely achieve synergy – often characterised as polar opposites. Yet to fully appreciate each of these dichotomous disciplines, Music can offer a unique perspective.
